A very warm, sunny evening

SPIRIT OF 82 - 4, UTV - 2
Saturday 8th October
Easy, Easy, Easy!!!
Well done to all concerned.
SPIRIT OF 82 - 3, SPORTING LISBURN ROAD - 7
Saturday 3rd August
On a bright Saturday morning, perfect conditions, silky skills on the Northern Ireland training pitch at Newforge,
the Spirit of 82 faced their toughest opposition yet.
Sporting Lisburn were the visitors, a mid-Ulster league team who were initially intimidated by the cauldron
that is...NEWFORGE. On ten minutes, Sporting Lisburn took the lead via a wicked deflection. Soon after a second
followed putting the home team 2-0 down. However, the resilience kicked in - playing for the shirt - and Spirit of 82
won a penalty. Pete Dennis sent the keeper the wrong way to trail by the odd goal. Soon after, Spirit of 82 won
a free kick in midfield. Ryan Stephenson took a quick one to Steven McKay whose strength beat 2 players before calmly
rounding the keeper to place the ball in the net.
The oppositions fitness told in the second half, going 4-2 up, before Ryan Stephenson slotted the ball home
from 4 yards. The warm conditions played a part and the match finished 7-3.
A great start to match day nevertheless...
