NEXT CLUB MEETING... To all,
Due to a major function in Newforge, we have decided that it is not worth making use of the facilities on Friday evening
7th October. As a test we are moving to Morrison's Bar in Bedford St, Belfast.
We have exclusive access to the upstairs function room from 3.00pm and there will be a full bar menu of food available,
including food platters for £10 that serve 3, team colours are permitted.
The bus will leave the bar at 7.00pm
and will return us to Bedford St after the game.
There are a number of car parks in the vicinity of the bar and
most are free after 5.00pm. A google search will give you the bars website and car parks in the vicinity.
Any member
attending Morrison's will be provided with £5, as it will be too difficult to work the membership card system.
Hopefully this city centre location will attract a few of the people who have said getting to Newforge is too much
of a hassle.
For those who perhaps don't want to eat in Morrison's there is a Pizza Express next door and
it always has internet offers available and RBG Bar and Grill is just around the corner in McClintock St, this is 2 for 1
dining with the highlife diners card.
For those that this doesn't suit, I apologise, unfortunately on this
occasion it is not practical to use Newforge. If you need tickets left at newforge for collection or need to meet me outside
the ground please let me know in plenty of time.

A very warm, sunny evening

SPIRIT OF 82 - 4, UTV - 2
Saturday 8th October
Easy, Easy, Easy!!!
Well done to all concerned.
SPIRIT OF 82 - 3, SPORTING LISBURN ROAD - 7
Saturday 3rd August
On a bright Saturday morning, perfect conditions, silky skills on the Northern Ireland training pitch at Newforge,
the Spirit of 82 faced their toughest opposition yet.
Sporting Lisburn were the visitors, a mid-Ulster league team who were initially intimidated by the cauldron
that is...NEWFORGE. On ten minutes, Sporting Lisburn took the lead via a wicked deflection. Soon after a second
followed putting the home team 2-0 down. However, the resilience kicked in - playing for the shirt - and Spirit of 82
won a penalty. Pete Dennis sent the keeper the wrong way to trail by the odd goal. Soon after, Spirit of 82 won
a free kick in midfield. Ryan Stephenson took a quick one to Steven McKay whose strength beat 2 players before calmly
rounding the keeper to place the ball in the net.
The oppositions fitness told in the second half, going 4-2 up, before Ryan Stephenson slotted the ball home
from 4 yards. The warm conditions played a part and the match finished 7-3.
A great start to match day nevertheless...
CAN YOU PLAY FOOTBALL?

fun!
